Armis Device Knowledge Base
The Armis Device Knowledge Base is a catalogue of device profiles that their security software can use to compare and contrast against device on a business’s network. Using these profiles of known vulnerabilities, their security software can detect which devices may be putting your network at risk. Even though other companies in this field use similar techniques, none have the massive 300 million device data base to compare against that Armis does. Armis came to us to help explain the massive scale of these data base, and how it maps device profiles to find the most exploitable ones in a sea of billions.

ROLE: ART DIRECTION / DESIGN / ANIMATION
Our goal was to create a system of design that would help Armis speak about their software and its database with a visual language.
Something that was graphic enough to be used as actual data-visualization, but also a bit flashy; with 3d camera moves and animation that were unexpected and exciting.
We came up with a language based on nodes, strings, and containers. Nodes represented a single device profile and strings represented some connection or commonality between two profiles. Then the clusters of connected devices were grouped and surrounded by containers. With this language we walked though how the software clusters similar devices, and searches through the patterns for behaviors that don’t fit the norm.
