VMware Tech Explainers explores the technology behind the company’s vision of the future. The video dives behind the scenes in five specific use-cases that tie cutting edge hardware with VMware software technology. Remote learning, wildlife tracking, contactless food ordering, drone delivery services, and autonomous driving are all explored under the hood to describe a future that’s not science fiction, but in fact very reachable.

One of the goals of the visual design was not to make the technology featured in the piece feel too science fiction. Instead of the traditional glowing elements in a dark world the design for the technology world was light and glassy.

This also allowed it to contrast nicely with the live action footage, which was shot at night.

The graphic design treatment was meant to be as simple as possible. Taking inspiration from technical diagrams to create a design language that was easy to understand at a glance, but was specific enough to connect with the narrative.
